Being shy and dating can be terribly difficult. If you are shy you may not know what to say, and can sometimes come across as aloof and snobbish without meaning to. This can lead to bad dates and a lower chance of scoring a second date. There are some things you can do to help you get over this and put your best foot forward.
Dating Coaches
A dating coach is a therapist who specializes in social behavior. With a coach you can learn techniques that will allow you to open up and be less shy. Often times dating coaches will include mock dating as part of the therapy. This allows you to be in a real life dating situation, and the coach will help you with appropriate behavior. It may take numerous sessions, but the skills you learn can be used in all social aspects of your life.
Workshops and Seminars
You may not have the money to sink in to private coaching which can run into several hundred dollars per session, so you may want to look into weekend workshops or seminars. These won’t be as intensive as one on one coaching, but will help you break some of the barriers you have when it comes to dating. Instead of mock dating you may be asked to role play with other participants. You may also watch video of dates so you can get a better idea of what works and what doesn’t. Many workshops and seminars will include workbooks that you can go back through before a real date to refresh your memory.  Being shy doesn’t have to mean you won’t have a dating life. You just may need some guidance to help you overcome your shyness.

You should also consider joining a swinging site, you can put an advert up and correspond with interested people to improve your communication skills, when your confidence increase you can take the next step and meet up with them.
